some stuff about me
there is an abundance of just about everything out there. joy, repression, pain and beauty can be seen in the cracks and seams of every facet of this world, begging to be seen and felt. while treading the line of cringe most delicately, i maintain a resolve to experience the complete range of this every day, without prejudice.
the best manner through which this can be done is making. with music as the primary means with which i try and reflect on everything, and heaps of whatever complimentary expressions i can tumble my way through to mirror these feelings, i’m here to try and portray this in a way that makes me feel warm inside.
with beauty, i should hope.
it’s a blessing to have some wonderful people around me, who’ve taught me much over the years to find ways to hone in on these ideas. some of them, like felix and howard, i share musical names through. pure joy and supermassive help illuminate an escape from the constricting expectations that one ought to stick to a singular pattern of expression, a particular sound or aesthetic. there’s far too much to say for that.
so i’d like to introduce you to some of it. between my own projects and those with my dear friends, there’s sounds beginning with introspective folk-ish feelings, heading through the fun rollercoaster of more grungey / shoegazey tones, and reaching much more experimental electronica, often trancey sort of atmospheres. so i reckon there’s gotta be something for everyone, somewhere within that range :-]
i could keep talking for days and days about all it all, interpret and analyse things til it’s all dead and dissected. but what’s the point of that? we let things out into the world so they can be felt and experienced uniquely to each person, for one’s own opinions to be made. so i’ll let you do that, should you wish.
i think all that’s important to say, is that so much of this allows me to channel what can often be very uncomfortable emotions, so that i can try to be whimsical and joy-ful in life. as we all should. by decorating time with our stories, feelings, the texture life has, we experience the moment much more openly. hopefully, with some more love in the heart.
so this website is a portfolio of all i try to make, alone and with those whom i love the most. i hope you like some of it : ]
and as i’ve already mentioned, i’m a freelance sound engineer by trade, and have been lucky enough to develop this skill over the past few years to have it pay for my life. in terms of studio-things, everything you hear that i work on has almost definitely been recorded, mixed and probably even mastered by me. however, i work mainly in live sound, having engineered a few small festivals, and now work across plenty of venues in london, from bricks + brixton jamm with live bands and dj’s, to more corporate events at the tate galleries, national gallery, kew gardens, the british museum etc. you get the gist.
so, naturally, i’d be quite happy to discuss projects if my services are ever needed! if this rings true, give me a shout via [email protected]
